Happy Easter!

We have been very busy this week  with our preparations for Easter! The children have  made some  great cards, delicious chocolate nests and fantastic bonnets for our Easter parade - well done!

We hope you all have a wonderful Easter and we will see you after the holiday for the start of our new term!

Easter Egg Hunt

We helped Rodney Rabbit count and order numbered Easter eggs today. Rodney was so pleased that he hid some real chocolate eggs for us to find. We had fun hunting, and shared them out equally. It was such a lovely sunny hot day that we had to eat the eggs quickly before they melted!

A little reminder for the week . . .

  • Easter Bonnets are due in this week ready for our parade!
  • If you have decorated a money box house for Hope House, they will need to be brought in by Friday of this week.
  • Thank you once again for all your Sport Relief donations - the school raised £625.39 - well done!

Getting Sporty For Sport Relief!

To support our fundraising event for Sport Relief, the children donated money to come dressed in their sporty clothes and take part in a wide variety of sporting activities. George enjoyed the trampoline - "I was bouncing up and down, up and down!" Alex enjoyed "Throwing the balls at the target - because the balls stick!" Thank you to everyone for your kind donations which will be added to the school total - we will let you know how much we managed to raise next week.

Clean Your Bike Day!

We had so much fun cleaning our bikes with Kim from Bike It! One of the children said "It was funny, the water had bubbles in, when I put them on the bike the bubbles popped!"

Spring Time . . .

We had some lovely warm sunshine during our walk in the school grounds to look for signs of Spring!  When we went back to the Nursery we talked about what we had found and then composed two group poems - we hope you enjoy reading them!

Birds' Nests

Today we found some birds' nests in the trees and hedgerows around the school field. We imagined we were little birds and had a go at making our own nests. We realised that it must take a bird along time making one with it's little beak.

We also had fun making some lovely muddy puddles too!

  • Last few days remaining to prepare your Easter Bonnet - we are looking forward to our parade next week!

Happy Mother's Day!

This week we have been thinking about how special our mums are. Some children did collages of their mums - aren't they fantastic?

We all made a card and painted a lovely flower on a tile to use as a coaster. There was some beautiful painting done on the cards - we think the mums will be very proud of their artists!

Everyone in Nursery would like to wish all our mum's a very happy Mother's day on Sunday!

Wellie Wednesday

We had great fun today making muddy dinosaur footprints. We found lots of mini beasts too, snails, millipedes and some fat worms!

Tuesday 13 March 2012

We really enjoyed our visit from the author Ian Whybrow. Our favourite story that he shared with us was Harry and the Dinosaurs say "Raahh!" and afterwards he signed our Nursery copy.
Which is your favourite Harry and the Dinosaurs book?
