Getting Arty with Eggs!

Having been so excited by the giant egg mystery, we continued the theme with some wonderful egg related art activities . . .

It was lots of fun rolling the marble over our eggs - we had to make sure we didn't drop it!

Look what happened when we dipped the string in the paint and 'took it for a walk' on our egg - do you like our patterns?

We used our finger to make a pattern in the paint, placed our egg on top - then pressed down hard - it was like magic when we lifted it up and saw the same pattern on our egg!

We were inspired by Faberge eggs when we carefully decorated our clay eggs - do you like our sequins?

How do you think we are making our
own giant egg?

We will be displaying our finished eggs during the school open evening in July - we hope you like them!

Egg-citing Mystery!

This week the children have been trying to solve a mystery - a huge nest had appeared on the field with two big eggs inside!
There was lots of egg-citement as the children
shared their thoughts . . .

"It must be a real egg - I can't see any footprints!"
"I know dinosaurs do lay big eggs" (Ember)

"The monster's going to come back and when it does we'll have to run away or it'll get us. When the dinosaurs get dizzy they'll fall on the floor. They're not going to hatch till their mummy comes back" (Alyssa)

"I think there might be a raptor in the egg - raptors have claws on their toes - raptors are nasty!" (Thomas)

Later in the day - something did hatch out of the egg, but we don't know what it was!
We went back to look for more clues . . .

"I can see feathers from birds"
"I think it's like a bird - it's got feathers in the nest" (Jasmine)

"I saw some food - dinosaur food - it had bones, it had a tiny bit of green stuff there" (Milena)

"It might be a dinosaur transformer. It will eat transformer robot dinosaurs - it's going to wag its tail" (Jacob)

What do you think it might have been?
Let us know!

Happy Fathers Day!

We have been finding out what the children are going to do to celebrate Fathers Day . . .

"I'm going to make my dad a card and give him a cuddle and a kiss" (Maisy)

"Make him a card and huggle him" (Felicity)

"The dads have lots of presents - my dad has one more present - his car being clean!" (Freddie)

There were some fantastic portraits from the children, and here are just a few of the lovely thoughts they shared with us about why their dad is special . . .

"He goes to work and when he comes home he gives me a big cuddle and a kiss" (Noah)

"He takes me to the park and town and the fairground" (Evan W)

"He takes me to the swings" (Jacob)

We hope all our dads have a wonderful day on Sunday!

Star of the Week!

Our Stars of the Week for last week were Lottie and Milena - well done girls!

25 Years of Greenfields!

We have been celebrating the school being open for 25 years!
There were lots of different media to choose from when we decorated our '25' template - how many different ones can you spot?

We had an 'eighties' theme for our party - there were some great costumes . . .
And we had lots of fun waving our flags!

There were games of 'pass the parcel'
And 'musical statues'

It was lovely to see so many of our previous staff that had returned for the special event. A new tree was planted . . .
And our Jubilee path officially opened!

Now we are all looking forward to the next 25 years!
