The Little Red Hen . . .

This week we have been having lots of fun based around the story of The Little Red Hen. We thought the animals were very unkind not to help the Little Red Hen with all her jobs - we always try to help each other at Nursery!

This week we helped each other to re-tell the story . . .
Create a Little Red Hen display . . .
And of course, make the dough to bake some delicious bread!
What things do you do at home to be helpful?

A little reminder . . .

  • The children will be bringing home their photograph proofs this week (taken last Friday). If you do wish to place an order, these must be returned to school by Friday 12th October as they will be collected by the Photographer on this date. Thank you.
  • Please can we remind parents that children need to have a pair of wellingtons in school (named!) and a waterproof coat each day as we will be making use of our outdoor environment in all weather conditions!

Star of the Week!

Our Stars of the Week for last week were Ellie-May, Eloise F and Phoebe. Congratulations and well done!

Five Little Speckled Frogs . . .

Having had lots of fun in the water tray with the frogs and ducks, we have been learning some number rhymes that we can sing together. This photograph shows our friendly frogs, but we also had five little ducks that went swimming one day!

Have you got a favourite number rhyme that you would like to share with us? We would love to hear from you if you have.

How tall are you?

We have been thinking about similarities and differences in the Nursery. Lots of us are the same age, but we wanted to find out if we were the same size! It was lots of fun finding different partners and comparing whether we were the same height, taller or shorter than each other.

Then we lay really still so that we could draw around each other before adding school uniform and a happy smiley face to go up on our display!

Wellie Wednesday

We have really enjoyed our first 'Wellie Wednesday' sessions. We have had fun exploring the treasure box and investigating the woodland area.
Making muddy puddles!

What can you see?

Digging for treasure!
We are really looking forward to our next session.

A little reminder for the week . . .

  • Recycling Reggie forms were due back in today (Wednesday 19th September) - we have only had a couple back so have now extended the deadline to Friday.

  • The Photographer will be in school on Friday morning - please check with a member of the team if you need to clarify any of the arrangements!

Star of the Week . . .

Our Stars of the Week for last week were Cian, Katie, Joel and Freya L - congratulations and well done to you all!

Welcome to the Nursery . . .

We would like to say a really big "hello and welcome!" to all of our new children and their families that have joined us this term. We are looking forward to getting to know you and hope that you enjoy your time here with us in the Nursery - the children have certainly been having lots of fun getting to know their way around!
