A little reminder for the week . . .

  • Welcome back after the half-term holiday!
  • A letter will be coming home this week regarding the Nursery parent meetings that have been re-scheduled. Please ensure that this is completed and returned by Friday 28th February - even if you do not wish to be allocated an appointment. Thank you.
  • The new system for collecting dinner money starts this week - can we please also remind parents to send in a copy of their child's menu choice if having a school dinner.
  • Please see the reminder in 'The Bell' regarding 'Story Spuds' for World Book Day. Thank you.
  • Remember to take a look at our 'Share a Story' blog to see how the children have been enjoying our new author this term!

Star of the Week!

We had lots of 'Stars' in the two weeks before half-term, including Harley, Evie, Felicity, Ruby, Esme and Archie. Well done and congratulations to all of you!

The Rain Came Down . . .

There was no shortage of rain before half-term - and we had great fun basing our activities around the story of Noah's Ark!
Some of the children had a go at matching the 2D shapes onto pictures of the ark - can you name all the shapes on this one?

We also helped Noah to sort and count the animals before they went into the ark - some of the children matched their finger carefully as they counted each animal in turn, some found the matching numeral, and a few had a go at writing their own numbers to show how many were in each group!

What do you think it would have been like staying on the ark for such a long time with all those animals?
Have you got a special pet that you would have wanted to take with you? Let us know!

Kung He Fat Choy!

We have really enjoyed finding out about a variety of celebrations for Chinese New Year this week!

Dressing up in traditional costume

Dragon dancing

Dancing with ribbons and Chinese writing

And tasting Chinese food with chopsticks!

Have you been celebrating too? We would love to hear what you did - perhaps you could send us some photos!

Cycle Circus!

This week we had lots of fun when Jess
(Sustrans Bike It Officer) came in to do a 'cycle circus' with us!
There were lots of things for us to look at, try out and talk about . . .

Drawing around tools

High viz dress up

Labelling a bike

Pumping up tyres with different pumps

We also coloured in a 'Be Bright' poster.
Have you got a bike?
We hope you always wear your helmet and wear bright colours so that you can be safe and be seen when you go out on it - let us know where your favourite cycle routes are!
