How Do You Feel?

We have been thinking about our feelings this week, and started off by talking about what makes us feel HAPPY . . .

Colette - "When I play with my train set"

Oliver BH - "When mummy cuddles me and I cuddle my sister"

Erin P - "It makes me happy when I'm
at the seaside"

Then we thought about what makes
us feel SAD . . .

Joe - "When I hurt myself"

Cherry - "Not sharing"

Alesha - "When daddy goes to work"

We don't want anyone to feel sad at Nursery - Harry Hedgehog came to meet us and we shared our ideas about how we could look after each other and our environment. . .

* We will play nicely, share toys, and be
kind and gentle
* We will listen carefully when someone
is speaking to us
* We will all help to keep the Nursery
clean and tidy
* We will remember to walk and not run
when we are inside
* If someone is feeling sad, we will give them a cuddle and help them to feel happy again

We want everyone to feel safe and happy!

Post us a comment and let us know what makes you feel happy!

Wellie Wednesday

We had a super first Wellie Wednesday session. We followed the journey of the Gingerbread Man through our forest school area, looking carefully for all the characters in the story. We also had fun in the mud kitchen and exploring our treasure boxes. Take a look at our photos.

Wet, Soap, Rinse, Dry!

We have been thinking about all the different times that we need to wash our hands, such as when we have been to the toilet or after we have been painting - and why it is so
important . . .

Isabel C - "You have to wash your hands before you eat"

Oliver L - "You need to wash your hands to get the germs washed away"

Aisha - "You don't want yukky germs. They make everyone sick"

Zoe - "You need to wash your hands because it can make your tummy poorly - all stingy and hurty"

We have been practising how to wash our hands properly, and remembering to . . .

Wet, soap, rinse and dry!

There are lots of other times when you need to wash your hands - which ones can you think of?

Monkey Puzzle

This week in Nursery we have been continuing to get to know each other and finding out about some of our similarities and differences.

We chose Monkey Puzzle as our next Julia Donaldson book as Butterfly helps Monkey to try and find his mum . . .

"Let's have a think. How big is she?"

"She's big!" said the monkey. "Bigger than me."

Will Butterfly find the right mum?

Take a look at our 'Share A Story, Share A Smile!' to find out more!

Getting To Know You . . .

It was lovely to see so many happy, smiling faces coming back to Nursery this week!

We have been continuing to get to know each other and finding out about some of our similarities and differences such as age, height, likes and dislikes etc.

It was lots of fun drawing round  two of our children to use as templates for our
'All About Me' display!

And then helping to paint and collage them before we added our school uniform!

Leo really likes his school uniform, he told us:

"When I go to the beach I don't wear my school jumper . . . I don't wear my school trousers. I don't want to get dirty in them - I like them!"

We would love to hear what you like about our Nursery and our School.

Post us a comment and let us know!

Superworm!

This term, alongside a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction books, we are going to have Julia Donaldson as our focus Author.

As we read in the Induction notes from parents that this was Ella's favourite book, we thought it would be a great one to start with!

Click on our 'Share A Story, Share A Smile!' book (just above the school logo) to visit our book blog and find out what the children thought of the story!

Welcome to The Autumn Term!

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all of our new children, their families and friends - we are looking forward to getting to know you and hope that you are as excited as we are about starting out on our learning journey together!

It has been a lovely first week with lots of new faces - and for the children, lots of new places and activities to discover!

Here is just a snap-shot of some of the things we
have been up to . . .

Choosing our favourite colours and being creative . . .

Exploring the tyres and castle . . .

Trying out the quoits and hoops . . .
Bouncing and balancing . . .

Enjoying the field and the playground . . .

Being busy in Bramble Cottage!

And drawing lovely pictures . . .
We have all had so much fun - and the term has only just begun!

Throughout the weeks ahead we would love to hear from you too, we look forward to reading your thoughts and comments about the things we have been up to!
