The Gruffalo's Child
We enjoyed the story of 'The Gruffalo' so much that we couldn't wait to find out what happened in the next book . . .
Take a look at our 'Share A Story, Share A Smile!' to find out more.

A Spotacular Success!
Pudsey Bear came along to join in the fun!
The children came dressed in their spots . . .
and we enjoyed some very yummy biscuits!
Between them, the children and their parents donated £32.00 which will be added to the school total.
Thank you so much for all your contributions - and supporting Children in Need.
Well done everyone!

The Gruffalo
We have been having fun exploring the autumnal changes in and around our school trees.
This wonderful story from Julia Donaldson was the ideal choice for our next book!
Click here to find out what some of the children thought - and then let us know if you enjoyed the story too!

Remembrance Day
We have been talking about Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy.
Skylar's nanny brought in some photographs of the poppy sculpture Weeping Window from her recent visit to Caernarfon Castle.
The sculpture is a cascade of thousands of handmade ceramic poppies which flow from the ramparts of the castle to the ground below.
It was designed by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper and includes poppies from the iconic Tower of London poppy display.
We observed the two minute silence and thought about all those that have given so much.

Bonfire Party!
This Wellie Wednesday we
talked about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate the 5th of November. We
had a go at building our own bonfire. We collected some very big sticks, small
sticks and lots of soggy leaves and then pretended to light our fire. We added
coloured tissue paper to resemble the flames before warming our hands by the
fire!
Some of us made some warming
winter soup to keep us warm in the cold outdoors!
Did you go to any bonfire
parties?

Getting On and Falling Out!
As part of our 'Empathability / Getting on and Falling out' we have been thinking about how important our friends are . . .
Mila - "My friend is Jasmine because she plays with me and makes me happy"
Ben G - "Albie - because he's nice to me. He came over to my house"
George - "I like Wiktor because he plays with me"
We thought about how we should play with our friends and Ben told us "You need to share"
Sometimes, friends can fall out and we talked about what we could do when this happens . . .
Ben G - "Make something - a paper aeroplane - they will like it and they might
be your friend again"
be your friend again"
Mila - "We can say sorry and give them a
hug and a kiss"
We sang a song with Mr Tumble all about friends, you could sing it too!

Bonfire Night!
We have been sharing what we know already about Bonfire Night . . .
Thomas - "Fireworks! I'm going to a firework display later. They go boom! (Thomas waved his arms in the air!) They come in the dark"
JJ - "They make big noises and small noises. They splat in the sky. They look like stars"
Amelia - "I like the fireworks. It's very noisy! They've got lots of different colours. The bonfire's outside and it's very dark"
We talked about how important it is to stay safe and watched a video of Fireman Sam to help us with this -
view it with your family and friends . . .
Are you going to be celebrating Bonfire Night?
We hope you have a lovely time - but remember to follow all the rules and STAY SAFE!
Post us a comment and tell us all about your celebrations - we would love to hear from you.
Room on the Broom
Some of the children have been telling us about their Halloween adventures, so we thought this would be a good choice of story for our next Julia Donaldson book . . .
Click here to find out which were some of the children's favourite characters in this lovely rhyming story!
