This week the whole school has been involved in our annual 'Arts Week' with a theme based around 'Outer Space'.

We have had lots of fun in Nursery and have explored a range of  different media and techniques for our creations.
Here is a little sneak preview of some of the things we have been up to . . .

Papier Mache Planets

Individual Bottle Rockets

We would love for you to see the finished results - come to school on Tuesday for our Open Evening and take a look at these and all the other great art work that the children have

Star of the Week!

Well done to Theo M R and Austeyn for both being awarded our 'Star of the Week'.

Congratulations!

Getting On and Falling Out!

As part of our focus on 'Empathability' we have been thinking about what makes a good friend.

This is what the children suggested . . .
*Playing together
*Being nice
*Helping each other
*Hugs!
*Being kind

Sometimes friends can fall out so we thought about what we could do when this happens . . .

*If you've said or done something unkind -
say sorry
*If you want to play different games -
play both games in turn
*If you disagree over something -
talk about it and find a compromise

The children drew pictures of themselves with their special friend . .  .
Jackson told us that Toby was his special friend because "I like him, he's my best friend ever!"
Pip told us that Amelia is her special friend because "She plays with me"

Who is your special friend?
We would love to hear why they are
special to you.
Post us a comment and let us know!

Over in the Clover

This week we have been sharing another Jan Ormerod book . . .

Click here to find out what some of the children liked as we visited different environments and met different animals.

Empathability!

Our new Darwin Value for this half-term is 'Empathability'.

We hope the following will provide you with a useful insight into what it is all about . . .

Star of the Week!

Congratulations to Alana for being awarded
our 'Star of the Week'.
Well done!

We are looking forward to having lots more 'Stars' after the half-term holiday!

How Are Our Jungle Plants Getting On?

We have been taking a close look at what has been happening to our jungle plants . . .
When we looked at our bean, Rose told us "It grew! A lot of leaves, big and small"
Having looked at our tomatoes, Kaidence predicted "They're going to grow high. The leaves are going to grow big too. We can pick the tomatoes and eat them!"
Jessica told us about the sunflower - "It's grown, it's got leaves. It will grow more and have a flower on top. It will have yellow petals"
There wasn't anything to see when we looked at our sweetpeas!
Hattie told us "It's gone, it's not growing up"
We hope something might start to grow soon!
Alana has predicted that our beanstalk will grow all the way to the sky, and there
might be a castle!

Now we are on the look out for giants!

How are your plants getting on in your garden? Post us a comment and let us know about any changes you have noticed recently.
