Selfhelpability!

As part of our Darwin Day activities we have been thinking about some of the positive ways in which we have changed since
starting at Nursery . . .
We took turns to hold the 'happy' face and tell each other something we are proud of that we have been trying our best to get better at doing, and that we are able to do now.

Harry W told us "I can write my name!"
Albie said "I can put my shoes on"
Isla told us "I can draw flowers"

Then we met two new puppet friends - they are going to be starting school soon and although they are very excited, they have been a little unsure of some of the changes that
are ahead of them.
We talked to the children about any little 'worries' that they may be having about going into their new classes and took turns to pass the 'worried' face around to share these concerns and consider how they could overcome them.

We reminded the children about some of the little worries that they had had when first starting at Nursery and all the positive changes that they have been able to achieve. We reassured them that with 'selfhelpability' they will be able to cope with any new challenges ahead and continue to be very happy as they move through to the next stage of
their learning journey!

How have you or a friend shown
'selfhelpability' recently?
Let us know!
