Hunting for Eggs!

The Easter Bunny came to visit us and hid some eggs in our Sensory Garden!
We had lots of fun hunting for them and sequencing them so that all the numbers were in the right order.
The children then had a lovely surprise as their laminated eggs were exchanged for a real chocolate egg!

We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Alan from the local Premier for the very kind donation of the chocolate eggs for our hunt.

They were greatly appreciated!

Designer Eggs!

As Easter is fast approaching, the children have been having fun exploring an art activity to design an Easter egg on the computer.

We think they look fantastic!

Which colours would you have chosen
for your design?
Let us know!

Thank You!

Thank You Colorful Clipart

We would like to say a huge 'Thank you' to the parents that so kindly made a donation in order to purchase their child's Jackson Pollock inspired masterpiece!

From the eighteen that were reserved and the very generous donations made, we have been able to raise a fantastic £54.00 which is wonderful and will greatly help towards sending Grayson, one of our sponsored children in Tanzania, to school for another year.

Well done, and thank you!

Star of the Week!

Congratulations to Christopher, Alfie T and Lucas for being awarded our 'Star of the Week'.

Well done!

There Once Was An Ugly Duckling . . .

As we have been thinking about spring time and new life, we thought that this would be an ideal story to share for our next traditional tale . . .

Looking for Signs of Spring!

We have been for a walk in the school grounds looking for signs of Spring . .  .

"They're not open yet"
(Do you know what they are?)
"Daffodils!"
(Why do you think they're not open yet?)
"Because it's a bit cold"
(So when will they open?)
"When it's warm!"

"Leaves - green!"
"That one tiny"
(What about these ones here?)
"Bigger!"

"Purple!"
(I wonder what colour they are inside?)
"Orange!"

Have you noticed any signs of Spring in your
own garden?

Jackson Pollock Inspired Art!

As you know, the children produced some wonderful Kandinsky inspired
creations recently.

We have also been looking at the work of another famous artist - Jackson Pollock.

An influential American painter and major figure in the abstract expressionist movement, he was well known for his unique style of drip painting.

The children selected from a range of background coloured paper and chose between two and four of their favourite colours to create their own unique 'drip painting'.
Each child's 'masterpiece' is on display in our special Nursery gallery this week!
Which colours would you have chosen to use?

Puss in Boots!

Having all enjoyed wearing our boots in the snow recently, we thought we would find out about the main character in our next traditional tale - he wore a pair of boots too!

Inspired by Kandinsky!

We were very lucky to welcome the accomplished artist Rory McCann into Nursery recently where he worked alongside the children to help them with some of their Kandinsky inspired art . . .

The children enjoyed working collaboratively and the finished results looked great!

We would like to say a big 'thank you' to Rory.

Growthability!

We have a new Darwin Value for this half-term. We hope the following will provide you with a useful insight into what it is all about!

Growthability from huntytelford

We talked about how special everyone is in their own way and that we can all be proud of ourselves and our friends.

The children passed the 'Happy' face around the circle and shared their thoughts about what makes them happy and proud to be them!

"I can put on my hat!" (Zac)

"I can hang my coat up on my peg" (Rose)

"I can draw ladybirds!" (Sophie)

"I can hit the ball well at tennis" (Zara)

What makes you happy and proud to be you?
