Wellie Elephant Prints

As part of our work on Elmer this week we learnt about elephants. There are two types of Elephants, Asian and African. Asian elephants and have larger ears, they flap their ears to keep themselves cool. Elephants like to swim, and enjoy muddy baths which help to cool them down too.

Today we imagined that we were elephants in the hot sun so decided to make a muddy swamp to play in! The soil was very dry so we had to add plenty of water to make our mud.

We did have fun making muddy footprints and exploring the sounds and patterns you can make in the mud.

                       Whose are these muddy wellies?
