Sorting the Bears. . .

Having talked a lot about the Three Bears in the Goldilocks story, we decided to think about the different ways that we could sort some of our Compare Bears into different groups:

"He's a big one - lots of them are the same. Small - two small ones, that's like the little one. These are all big, these are all small, these are all little" (Gethin)

"That's big, that's small, and that's even bigger - I've sorted them into three groups - big, bigger and smaller!" (Felicity)

"Them two are the same - they're that size together. That's tiny and that is tiny. That one is big because his feet is big!" (Ava)

"They're all blue so they match - see, all of these bears match, they're all big and small . . . mmm . . . big and small. This one's a medium one!" (Freddie)

We were delighted with the size related vocabulary that the children used, and some of the children were also able to count and label how many bears were in each group - well done to all of our super mathematicians!
